The Houston-Galveston Trauma Institute

History




The Houston Galveston Trauma Institute was conceived and started by four mental health professionals, Norman Decker, MD, Jean Goodwin, MD, Rosalie Hyde, LCSW, Naomi Rosborough, LPC-S. HGTI was incorporated in the State of Texas as a 501-3C non-profit in October, 2002.

In the early years, HGTI offered a low-fee clinic and trauma training for mental health professionals. In December, 2015, the 501-3C closed. The Institute today continues to offer training and consultation to a wide variety of Behavioral Health and Human Service agencies.
